Style
Carrie will try to photograph the everyday life around her. She focuses on, people, places or things that are often considered commonplace. Carrie will also photograph beauty in things that are considered not beautiful or mix the two. She also will try not to use a lot of software editing in my photography. Carrie will try and strive to get the photography through the camera and lighting- not the computer. I shoot what is there naturally- not add it in. A lot of my black and white images are still shot on film and developed in my darkroom. Being a competitive Ballroom dancer- I like to photograph dancers of all types. Art History- a few artists I have always loved are; Degas or Diego Rivera (especially his murals in Detroit).
Philosophy
Carries philosophy is finding the beauty in things that are not considered “traditionally beautiful”. She will also work to find beauty in everyday life. She feels people are too consumed with themselves and need to slow down and observe what is going on around them.
Influencers
Carrie is influenced in her photograph by many people, these people are Charles, Sheeler, Annie Leibovitz, Dorothea Lange and Jordan Matter.
This photo was somewhat easy to recreate the hardest part about these photos was trying to get the same lighting and angle on my photo was hard to get right. The easy part of trying to recreate this photo is getting the orange slices in the right order and style.
This Photo was hard because on edits the photo was coming out blurry and fuzzy. This took a lot of playing with to get the right lighting and edits.
This Photo was hard to recreate because the lighting and the angle to get was hard to get. Although the image is black and white it was hard to get the dark red in Carries Photo.
Project Statement
This project was fun because I got to talk and get to know Ms Halliburton. It was also fun to try and recreate the photos. This was all together a fun process.
